Beasiswa Scholarship

Scholarship applications should be sent following an application for a taught course at Sheffield Hallam University.

The scholarships will be awarded to well-qualified students who demonstrate academic, personal or professional achievement in the personal statement on their scholarship application form. Successful applicants will be awarded with a certificate to mark their achievement at a Scholarships ceremony following enrolment on their course and a payment will be made after enrolment. This scholarship is not a reduction in fees.

Aqualink is an interdisciplinary doctoral training and research programme focusing on aquatic boundaries and linkages in a changing environment. Over a 3-year period, doctoral candidates will receive training that aims at facilitating completion of research leading to an original doctoral thesis and high-quality publications in the scientific literature. Two Leibniz institutes (Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries, IGB; Leibniz Centre of Agricultural Landscape Research, ZALF) will cooperate with three international partners (University of Aberdeen, Scotland; Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology, Eawag; University of Southern Denmark) to create a stimulating research environment, facilitate international mobility, and provide support structures and assistance, all aimed at promoting the candidates’ skill set required for successful science. Resource Efficiency/ Sustainability in Food Supply Chains

Applications are invited for a three year PhD studentship, supported by the School of Engineering and Applied Science, to be undertaken within the Project & Supply Chain Management Research Group and Engineering Systems & Management Group at Aston University.

The position is available to start in July 2012 (subject to negotiation)

Financial Support

This studentship includes a fee bursary to cover the home/EU fees rate plus a maintenance allowance of £13,590. Applicants from outside the EU may apply for this studentship but will need to pay the difference between the ‘Home/EU’ and the ‘Overseas’ tuition fees, currently this is £9,668.

For young scientists from developing countries (other than Malaysia) who wish to pursue advanced research in the natural sciences at the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang, Malaysia. Deadline 15 September.

Eligibility:
Candidates must hold a good Honours degree (First or 2i) or a Master’s degree (MSc, MMath, MSci) at merit or distinction in a relevant subject or equivalent. For best consideration, candidates should either have a Master’s degree or expect to finish their Master’s by September 2012. The scholarship competition is open to all PhD applicants. UK, EU and overseas fee paying students are invited to apply. Overseas students would have to make up the difference between the Home and Overseas tuition fees.
